Celebrated to Environmental day

The theme of the celebration of World Environment Day 2025 was the District Program of Matale District which was successfully implemented on 05. June 2025.

As a collective activity, the following were coordinated for this program:

District Secretariat, Matale Headquarters Police, Central Environmental Authority Matale Assistant Director's Office, Institute of Environmental Protection and Scientific Research, Earth Defense Organization, Christ Theological Seminary, Sanghamittha College, Vijaya College, Oxygen Institute, jointly launched these activities,

1) Environmental Walk - (Walking along the main streets of Matale)

2) Planting of trees

3) Awareness program on environmental resource management -

was implemented in the premises of Matale District Secretariat.

The chief guests of this program were the Additional Government Agent of the Matale District, Mr. Uthpala Jayaratne, Additional Government Agent Mrs. Realdeen and the Matale District Assistant Director of the Central Environmental Authority, Mrs. Renukaliya
